Why Peanuts & Sesame based Food products?

Peanuts – originating from South America, were a staple in Aztec and Inca diets, spreading globally via Spanish and Portuguese explorers. Peanut was introduced into India at the earliest by the first half of the sixteenth century.

Peanut is rich in calories as it burns almost 570Cal per 100g, 26g of enriched protein which is a great stimulator of muscle growth, heart-healthy fat of around 50g, 16g of carbs which can aid in diabetic control, and 9g of highly digestible fiber. It is also high in magnesium, phosphorus, potassium, and key antioxidant vitamins like B3 & E.

Peanuts support heart health with monounsaturated fats that may lower bad cholesterol, provide sustained energy due to protein and healthy fats aiding in weight management, and the antioxidants like resveratrol may reduce inflammation and disease risk.

Sesame – From the great Indus Valley civilization (2500–1500 BC), charred sesame seeds have been discovered, making its use traceable to over 5500 years ago. Trade with Mesopotamia around 2000 BC records its significance.

Sesame is equally rich in calories, burning 573Cal per 100g, delivering 17g of protein with essential amino acids, almost 50g of unsaturated fat, 24g of low-glycemic carbs, and 12g of fiber which supports gut health.

It’s an excellent source of calcium, iron, copper, and high in thiamin (B1 & B6). Sesame's lignans (sesamin & sesamolin) help lower cholesterol and blood pressure, while its antioxidants protect against cell damage and may reduce cancer risk. Calcium and magnesium further support bone strength and nerve function.

Both peanuts and sesame are nutrient-packed, making them ideal for a balanced diet. Enjoy them roasted, as butter, or in snacks like Bharath Snacks’ peanut chikkis & sesame chikkis for a tasty health boost!
